Manipulation of words matter!

Dear Editor,

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr.

Millions of young people and old are in a battle for their very souls and the “Soul of our Nation”. That matters!

Is it not unbelievable, unconscionable that within a major party in the United States of America, unrestricted abortion stands above all other issues plaguing our country? That matters!

At one time, young women were told that abortion was the removal of a “blob of tissue”. Today’s technology shows that in some cases a small “baby” can be seen dodging the instruments of its demise. The end result… its “members” that lay before the abortionist are called the “contents of the uterus”, arms, legs etc., have “value” now, to a willing buyer.

This manipulation of words matter!

People also have to be informed as to what the procedure is, when abortion can be performed right at the point of the delivery of a fully formed, living, human baby.

Several years ago, I heard an abortion “doctor” brag about the “numbers” he had done by severing the spinal chord. Today there is a procedure just as horrific and apparently done without any qualms. How can this possibly be called “Reproductive Health”?

Again, the manipulation of words, that matter!

The media, politicians and citizens like to bandy about the word democracy, “our democracy is at stake” etc. Government of the people by the people and for the people—we have people put in office to represent us, but do they?

Here is this thought about democracy from Vladimir Lenin and echoed by Marx. “The essence of democracy is the sovereign worth of every human person. This in turn is based on the postulate, the “illusion”, the “myth” of Christianity, namely that man has a soul.”

This ideology that tells you that your Christianity is an “illusion”, “a myth”, fosters hatred and division and kicking aside the guardrails of virtue especially ethics and truth.

If we can accept the atrocity of abortion which is nothing less than the mutilation and murder of women and men not yet born, then our democracy is left gasping for its last breath.

Our hope is that the divine merciful love of God will get into the hearts and souls of those still so hardened as to think abortion is ok. He matters!
