Park will not be used for parking

Dear Editor,

I just want to ease the minds of Almont citizens regarding Burley Park.

I have been in contact with Village Manager on the Veterans Memorial Park (Burley Park); the Village Manager and council have done a lot to clean up the park and make it more presentable.

The Almont American Legion Post 479 (through me) was contacted before the hedges were torn out. The members and I think it looks much better. I was told by Village Manager Dale Kerbyson that I would be contacted for my opinion and or input before anything else was done.

I have also been assured that the park will not be used for a parking lot or for anything other than what it was dedicated as–a veterans memorial park.
