Maintain the rural nature of our township

Dear Editor,

Goodland Township is rated as one of the best agricultural communities in the United States. With the open position of Goodland Township Supervisor and as a candidate for that position, my goal is to maintain the rural nature of this farming community which we all enjoy. Industry should not be part of our agricultural community. This represents the desires and wishes of the residents of Goodland Township. Within the current environment, many want change, but change is not always in the community’s best interest.

The issues that I feel strongly about are:

• Get residents in the township involved and engaged to attend township meetings.

• Work with the County Road Commission to improve roads and ditches.

• Keep the township’s rural nature by limiting commercial project growth.

• The residents should be informed about township issues with frequent communications.

I plan to achieve all of this based on my experience, now that I am retired from owning and operating a corporation for over 35 years. I feel that the Goodland Township Supervisor position requires full-time attention and devotion. I am running my campaign based on INTEGRITY, HONESTY, and COMMITMENT to the residents of Goodland Township.

I attend the Goodland Township meetings regularly and for the past several years, have held the following positions:

• Lapeer Republican Party Executive Committee (GOP)

• Certified Election Inspector

• Precinct Delegate for Goodland Township

• Chairman of the Goodland Township Road Committee

• Member of Lapeer Stand-Up Michigan

• Member of the Lapeer Tea Party Organization

• Lapeer County Board of Canvassers

I am an active proponent of the ballot initiative to take back local zoning control from the State of Michigan. We need everyone’s involvement to prevent the State of Michigan from making local zoning decisions such as the placement of commercial solar. Let me lead YOU to help in this initiative.

I have many qualifications and experience working with Fortune 500 companies and the Big Three automakers. I have worked with companies across the U.S.A., Mexico, Canada, and the Middle East. My degrees are in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

My wife, Peggy, and I are lifelong Michigan residents and have been married for 45 years. We have two children and eight grandchildren. With my vast business experience and community service, I believe that Goodland Township residents will benefit if I am elected Goodland Township Supervisor.
