Ruegsegger sets a new school record

CAPAC — Gavin Ruegsegger wound up with a pair of singles, helping visiting Capac register a 4-0 triumph against Merritt Academy in a non-league varsity baseball matchup last Thursday.

Ruegsegger’s perfornmance left him with 43 hits for the 2022 campaign, a school record.

Louis Aguinaga held the previous mark, collecting 42 hits in 2015.

Mason Smith (a double) along with Jared Fahley, Vinny Ramirez, Jose Rodriguez and Danny Laskowski (a single each) supplied the remaining Capac basehits.

Rodriguez was the winning Capac pitcher. He allowed four hits oveer seven innings, struck out seven and walked one.
