All-Area softball squad is chosen

TRI-CITY AREA — From the first pitch until the final out, these competitors set the standard for excellence with their play out on the field.

Here is a look at who secured a spot on the 2026 edition of The Tri-City Times All-Area softball squad and the numbers they generated en route:

Faith Schriber, Imlay City, pitcher.

Schriber put together a 14-8 record, featuring a 2.18 ERA, this spring.

In 141 innings of work, gave up 158 hits, struck out 109 and walked 45.

Batting average: Schriber furnished a .287 average this spring. That ranked her seventh on the Imlay City squad and 10th among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She had 21 singles and six doubles in 94 at bats.

Schriber also provided Imlay City with 23 RBI, 10 walks and three runs.

This was her third year on Imlay City’s squad.

Postseason honors: The junior ended the 2026 campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference, All-District and All-Region first team selection.

Macie Stine, Imlay City, catcher.

Stine amassed a .496 average, thanks to 37 singles, 16 doubles, two triples and five home runs in 121 at bats. That placed her first on the Imlay City squad and among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She also collected 45 RBI, scored 27 runs drew six walks and stole one base.

Stine struck out just four times.

This was her first year on Imlay City’s squad.

Postseason honors: Stine finished her initial season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team choice as well as an All-District and All-Region pick.

Alexis Bruyere, Imlay City, third base.

Bruyere managed a .440 average this spring. That ranked her second on the Imlay City squad and third among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She had 36 singles, seven doubles and a triple in 100 at bats.

Bruyere also provided Imlay City with 31 runs, 25 stolen bases, 12 RBI and one walk.

This was her third year on Imlay City’s squad.

Postseason honors: Bruyere completed the 2026 campaign as an All-District selection and All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention choice.

Madi Derk, Almont, shortstop.

Derk produced a .333 average, thanks to 32 singles, three doubles and a home run in 108 at bats. That placed her fourth on the Almont squad and seventh among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The sophomore also contributed 25 runs, 14 RBI and drew four walks to Almont’s cause.

This was her second season on Almont’s squad.

Emma Campbell, Almont, infield.

Campbell wound up with a .377 average this spring. That ranked her third on the Almont squad and sixth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She had 27 singles, 10 doubles and three triples in 106 at bats.

Campbell also provided Almont with 25 RBI, 21 runs and six walks.

This was her fourth year on Almont’s squad.

Postseason honors: Campbell concluded the 2026 campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention choice.

Montanna Eads, Imlay City, first base.

Eads provided a .260 average, thanks to 17 singles, five doubles, two triples and a home run in 96 at bats. That placed her eighth on the Imlay City squad and 11th among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She also contributed 28 runs, 16 RBI and 10 walks to Imlay City’s cause.

This was her third year on Imlay City’s squad.

Anna Debczak, Almont, utility player.

Debczak furnished a .464 average this spring. That ranked her first on the Almont squad and second among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She had 40 singles, six doubles, four triples and one home run in 110 at bats.

Debczak also provided Almont with 38 RBI, 16 runs and four walks.

This was her third year on Almont’s squad.

Postseason: .402 The junior completed the year as an All-District and All-Region selection as well as an All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention choice.

Cora Wangler, Almont, centerfield.

Wangler registered a .435 average, thanks to 37 singles, 10 doubles, two triples and one home run in 115 at bats. That placed her second on the Almont squad and fourth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She also contributed 40 runs, 16 RBI and six walks to Almont’s cause.

This was her second year on Almont’s squad.

Postseason honors: Wangler completed the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team pick and All-District selection.

Roslyn Bruman, Imlay City, outfield/second base.

Bruman registered a .402 average, thanks to 41 singles in 102 at bats. That placed her third on the Imlay City squad and fifth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She also contributed 30 runs, 13 RBI, eight walks and seven steals to Imlay City’s cause.

This was her second year on Imlay City’s squad.

Postseason honors: Bruman ended the season as an All-District choice for her prowess in the outfield. She was also an All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention pick.

Leelynn Craven, Imlay City, outfield.

Craven managed a .301 average this spring. That ranked her fifth on the Imlay City squad and ninth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She had 25 siungles and six doubles in 103 at bats.

The junior also provided Imlay City with 20 RBI, 20 runs, nine steals and three walks.

This was her second year on Imlay City’s squad.

Brooke Walls, Imlay City, outfield.

Walls posted a .327 average, thanks to 28 singles, eight doubles and one triple in 113 at bats. That ranked her fourth on the Imlay City squad and eighth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The freshman also provided Imlay City with 27 runs, 23 RBI, eight walks and seven steals.

Honorable mention- Vivian Asaro, Almont, third base; Kali Tencza, Almont, utility; Gabby Tice, Capac, infield; Madelynn Dudley, Capac, pitcher; and Aida Tancredi, Capac, outfield.

Coach of the Year- For directing Imlay City to a 21-16 overall mark, including a 7-7 league showing (good for a three-way tie for fourth place) as well as a top Division 2 district finish, Jean Bannister has been named the recipient of Tri-City Times All-Area Coach of the Year recognition.
