Spartans third, Raiders take fifth

TRI-CITY AREA — The Imlay City and Almont boys’ track squads wound up third and fifth, respectively, a the Armada-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet on Tuesday, May 5.

Yale (145 points) won the team title that day. They were followed by Cros-Lex (104 points), Imlay City (88), North Branch (66), Almont (62), Armada (42), Richmond (19) and Algonac (one).

Jovani Pena, long jump, 19 feet 6 inches; Brett Lestage, 100 (11.34 seconds), 200 (22.54 seconds) and 400 (50.67 seconds) dashes; along with Liam Bhatti, 3200-meter run, 10:47.98; led Imlay City with firsts.

The Imlay City 800-meter relay of Jacob Robb, Enrique Cardenas, Juan Salcedo and Lestage also prevailed. They were timed in 1:34.39.

The 3200 relay of Hudson Everhart, Will Cilk, Isaac Sommer and Bhatti placed second, thanks to an 8:37.03 clocking.

Sommer 1600-meter run, 4:54.47; gave Imlay City an outright individual event fourth.

The Imlay City 400-meter relay of Robb, Cardenas, Salcedo and Pena claimed fourth as well. They were timed in 47.6 seconds.

Jalen Gauthier, high jump, 5 feet 5 inches; provided Imlay City with a two-way tie for a fourth.

Sebastian Hoult, pole vault, 10 feet; Tyler Kanai, long jump, 17 feet 11 1/2 inches; and Mason Russell, 3200 run, 11:16.07; contributed Imlay City’s individual event fifths.

The Imlay City 1600 -meter relay of Brady Homer, Cilk, Sommer and Cardenas ranked fifth as well, thanks to a clocking of 3:56.83.

Brayden Cremeans, discus, 110 feet 7 inches; added a sixth for Imlay City.

Colton Grzyb, 800 run, 2:02.99; paced Almont with a first.

Gabe Hibner, pole vault, 12 feet; and Brody Corneau, 110 hurdles, 16.35 seconds; provided Almont with individual event seconds.

The Almont 1600-meter relay of Matthew Bacholzky, Johnny Roland, Adam SaintOnge and Grzyb took second as well. They were timed in 3:36.57

Bacholzky, 400-dash, 53.81 seconds; supplied Almont with a third.

The Almont 3200 relay of Jamin Siewert, Ben Kline, SaintOnge and Grzyb wound up third as well. It took them 8:38.66 to accomplish the feat.

Corneau, 300-meter hurdles, 45.22 seconds; Siewert, 800 run, 2:07.58; contributed Almont’s fourths.

Logan Lorincz, 100-meter dash, 12.06 seconds; generated Almont’s individual event fifths.

The Almont 400 relay of Ayden Battani, Max Glaivich, Corneau and Lorincz managed a fifth as well. They were timed in 48.22 seconds.

Roland, 400-meter dash, 55.3 seconds; Adam SaintOnge, 800 run, 2:08.52; furnished Almont’s individual event sixths.

The Almont 800 relay of Andrew SaintOnge, Roland, Battani and Glavich wound up sixth as well. It took them 1:40.92 to accomplish the feat.
