Imlay City, Almont baseball gain split

TRI-CITY AREA — The Imlay City varsity baseball team halved a Blue Water Area Conference doubleheader with visiting Almont on Tuesday, April 14.

In the opener, Imlay City earned a 4-3 win against Almont.

Levi Lengemann (three singles) and Brady Detwiler (one single) provided Imlay Citys’ hits.

Griffin Wetzel and Nick Schroeder shared the pitching responsibilities for the winning Imlay City side. They allowed four total hits, struck out six and walked 10.

Mason Kruse paced Almont with a single and a double. He was backed by Colten Karbel and Brock Murphy (a single each).

In the second game, Imlay City dropped a 6-5 verdict to Almont.

Brady Detwiler led Imlay City with a double. The Spartans also had Sam Edson, Vinnie Guerin and Caleb Siracki (a single apiece).

Murphy (a single and a double), Karbel (two singles) along with Blake Lane, Colin Campbell, Keith Geml and Landon Swain (a single each) supplied Almont’s hits.

Swain and Karbel pitched for the triumphant Almont side. They gave up four total hits, struck out seven and issued four walks.
