Times names All-Area hoops team

From the first game until the last, these athletes let their respective performances speak for themselves.

Here is a look at who made the 2025-26 edition of The Tri-City Times All-Area boys’ basketball lineup and the numbers they amasssed en route:

Gianni Coscione, Dryden.

Coscione managed 422 points over 22 contests, an average of 19.2 points game, during the 2025-26 campaign.

That placed him first on Dryden’s squad and out of those named to the Tri-City Times All-Area first team lineup.

The 5-10 junior guard also contributed 81 steals and 68 assists to Dryden’s cause.

Coscione ended his third varsity campaign as an All-Big Thumb Conference Blue Division first team selection.

Isaac Sommer, Imlay City.

Sommer netted 413 points in 23 games, an average of 18.0 points per contest, this winter.

That ranked him first on the Imlay City squad and second among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The 6-1 senior guard also provided Imlay City with 94 rebounds, 55 steals and 49 assists.

This was his fourth year on Imlay City’s varsity.

Sommer wrapped up his final season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team choice.

Luke Taylor, Dryden.

Taylor netted 380 points over 25 contests, an average of 15.2 points per game, during the 2025-26 campaign.

That placed him second on the Dryden squad and third out of those named to the Tri-City Times All-Area first team lineup.

The 6-3 junior forward also contributed 220 rebounds, 73 assists and 70 steals to Dryden’s cause.

Taylor completed his third varsity campaign as an All-Big Thumb Conference Blue Division first team pick.

Lavon Edwards, Imlay City.

Edwards supplied 294 points over 23 contests, an average of 12.8 points per game, during the 2025-26 campaign.

That ranked him second on the Imlay City squad and fourth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The 6-0 senior guard also contributed 141 rebounds, 52 assists and 43 steals to Imlay City’s cause.

This was his first season on Imlay City’s varsity.

Edwards finished the 2025-26 campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team selection.

Boston Vock, Capac.

Vock furnished 268 points in 22 games, an average of 12.2 points per contest, this winter.

That placed him first on the Capac squad and fifth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The 6-1 senior guard also provided Capac with 101 rebounds, 46 steals and 39 assists.

This was his second year on Capac’s varsity.

Vock completed the season as an All-Big Thumb Conference Black Division second team choice.

Austin Howard, Capac.

Howard managed 254 points over 22 contests, an average of 11.5 points per game, during the 2025-26 campaign.

That ranked him second on Capac’s squad and sixth out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

The 6-5 senior center also contributed 205 rebounds, 59 blocked shots, 43 steals and 31 assists to Capac’s cause.

Howard ended his third varsity campaign as an All-Big Thumb Conference Black Division first team pick.

Jalen Gauthier, Imlay City.

Gauthier finished with 230 points in 20 games, an average of 11.5 points per contest. this winter.

That placed him third on the Imlay City squad and seventh among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The 6-7 sophomore guard also provided Imlay City with 151 rebounds, 63 blocked shots, 56 assists and 18 steals.

This was his second year on Imlay City’s varsity.

Gauthier wrapped up the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team choice.

Second team- Brady Schneider, Dryden; Blake Lane, Almont; Brody Corneau, Almont, Trystan Whiting, Imlay City; Brady Detwiler, Imlay City; Wiley Roose, Capac; and Spencer Kent, Almont.

Honorable mention- Aaron Coltson, Capac; Sam Edson, Imlay City; Hayden Blair, Dryden; Jax Morley, Dryden; and Rowan Handley, Dryden.

Coach of the Year- For directing his team to a overall record, a pacesetting 8-0 Big Thumb Conference Blue Division mark and a second at a Division 4 district, Dryden Coach John DelCampo earns Tri-City Times All-Area Coach of the Year accolades.
