Cooper nabs a second at state finals

ALMONT — Almont registered one top-ten finish at the Michigan High School Powerlifting Association Varsity Boys’ State Championship held recently.

The competition was contested March 7 in Lake Orion.

Carsen Cooper headlined for Almont that day.

Participating in the 114-pound weight class, Cooper generated a total of 745 pounds en route to a second.

Jace Hyry competed in the same division as well. He posted a total lift of 510 pounds, paving the way to a 12th.

Dylan Hartman also represented Almont that day.

Competing in the Super Heavyweight Division, Hartman posted a total of 1,185 pounds on the way to an 18th.
