‘Flusterbombed by big, beautiful prices’

Dear Editor,

Last week, while listening to Pres. Trump’s ‘State of the Union’ message to the American people, I was flusterbombed in hearing him proclaiming that gasoline prices are coming down, in some states as low as $2.00 per gallon, and in one place/some place in our big, beautiful land, gas prices were $1.85.

I thought to myself, I may need to seriously get my eyes checked, because on the Monday prior, while driving past the Speedway in Dryden, I saw regular-unleaded selling for $3.19 per gallon, and on the Tuesday afternoon of the SOTU speech, I saw regular-unleaded selling for the same price, $3.19, at the Chillbox on 32 MIle & Rochester Rd.

If I would have known Pres. Trump was going to make gasoline prices a topic of his SOTU speech, I would’ve taken a picture of the current gasoline prices at these two different, and popular, gas stations.

But, I have to mention, that as I was listening to our good president erroneously proclaiming “America is Coming Back”, on my laptop, playing in the background, was one of my favorite Rod Stewart songs, ‘Every Picture Tells a Story’, and then I thought, geez, I still have that photo I took a few weeks ago while grocery shopping at Meijers in Lapeer. It’s a photo of two family packs of two ribeye steaks, weighing 2.14 lbs. and 2.29 lbs. respectively, for the Trump totally (un)affordable prices of $47.17 and $50.47!
