Tired of online casino gambling commercials

Dear Editor,

Are you getting tired of the mind-numbing TV and cell phone commercials encouraging online and casino gambling? I am. They make it look cool and exciting, and the possibility of big winnings is almost certain. They are even willing to extend you a line of credit, so you can begin your gambling career.

Gambling can be additive; it can destroy careers and families. What impact will watching these commercials continually have on our children as they grow?

We ban tobacco and alcohol commercials in an effort to protect our kids from addiction. Can parallels be drawn between tobacco and alcohol addiction and a gambling addiction, and the effect on the quality of life for the gambler and their families?
