CAPAC — Capac made host Memphis absorb a 48-0 loss in a Big Thumb Conference Blue Division varsity football clash last Friday.

With the result, Capac moves to 5-2 and 4-2. Memphis slips to 0-7 and 0-6.

“We had a really good week of practice,” Capac Co-Coach Troy Schneider commented. “It showed in our performance tonight,” he noted.

In Friday’s clash, Capac bolted out to a 24-0 advantage after one quarter was done and widened the gap to 48-0 at the half.

That was followed by a scoreless second half.

Capac generated their 48-point total aided by a Sam Schneider 56-yard touchdown run (followed by a PAT tote by Brenden Bussone); a Sam Schneider 55-yard touchdown run (followed by a PAT tote by Bussone); a Schneider 30-yard touchdown run (followed by a PAT tote by Bussone); a Tesnow to Schneider 21-yard touchdown pass (followed by a PAT tote by Schneider); a Boston Vock 70-yard punt return for a touchdown (followed by a PAT tote by Tesnow); and a Gabe Peters one-yard touchdown run (followed by PAT tote by Bussone).

For the night, Tesnow completed two of four pass plays for 29 yards as Capac’s quarterback. He threw zero interceptions along the way.

Both of his successful tosses went to Vock.

Schneider was the other Capac player who opted to air out the football. His lone attempt went for a 21-yard completion to Tesnow.

The Capac ground attack wound up with 366 yards.

Schneider (six rushes for 154 yards), Brendan Bussone (92 yards on five totes), and Peters (10 rushes for 90 yards) proved Capac’s toughest players to stop.

Roose (four solos and five assists), Schneider (five solos and three assists) and Zack Stroup (three solos and three assists) posted Capac’s highest tackle totals. Seth Turmer (four solos and one assist) and Vock (four solos) made their presence felt as well.

The Capac defense also registered three takeaways. Roose and Turner (an interception each) along with Ricky Molina (a fumble recovery) provided those.

Capac will look to continue their winning ways this Friday when they travel to Deckerville. The Big Thumb Conference Blue Division meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m.
