Peake excels at All-Star event

ALMONT — The Red team, which counts Almont’s Avery Peake among their ranks, earned a second-place showing at the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association Girls’ All-Star Games last Saturday.

East Lansing High School is where the action unfolded.

Her team started things off with a convincing 6-1 win over the Yellow squad.

It was there Peake, who has signed with Davenport University, connected for a goal on a header off a corner kick.

The Red team then squared off versus the Green squad for tournament honors next. Their battle would be ended early due to bad weather, finishing with the Green squad ahead 3-0.

Aubri Torok (Bath), Ava Pappas (Grosse Pointe South), Addison Lockhart (Canton), Sienna Snyder (Saline), Katrie Sakesian (Salem), Claire Charnok (Monroe), Nicole O’Neal (Dewitt), Savannah Spangler (Grosse Point South), Emma Witbrodt (Frankenmuth), Lucy Rafferty (Goodrich), Ally Younglove (Monroe), Ella Ryzyl (Armada), Claire Binder (Plymouth Christian), Anna Perry (Goodrich), Rylie DeBacker (Woodhaven), Cali Schwartzenberger (Salem), Rylee Jatczak (Essexville Garber), Tori Swiggum (Lenawee Christian) Madison McDonald (Dewitt) and Callie Anderson (Lenawee Christian) joined Peake on the roster of the Red team.

For her performance at the All-Star event, Peake was named the recipient of Defensive MVP accolades.
