Dryden reaches district title game

DRYDEN — Dryden registered a second-place showing last Saturday at a Division 4 baseball district.

Memphis High School is where the action unfolded.

Dryden opened their two-game stint with a 7-2 semifinal win against Merritt Academy.

Ian Tresnak (three singles), Owen Gall and Santiago Perales (a single and a double each) led Dryden with multiple-hit performances. They were backed by Aiden Furneaux (a double) along with Evan Weier and Jax Morley (a single apiece).

Furneaux was Dryden’s pitcher of record. He allowed four hits, struck out seven and walked three en route.

Dryden then met Marine City Cardinal Mooney (no. 6, Division 4) next for district honors.

When the final scores were tallied, Marine City Cardinal Mooney secured a 14-1 victory.

Jayden Stankevich and Furneaux (a single each) accounted for Dryden’s hits.

With the results, Dryden concludes a 13-12 campaign.
