Dryden starts year with two wins
DRYDEN — Dryden swept host Burton Bentley in a non-league varsity baseball doubleheader last Thursday.
In the opener, Dryden posted a 21-5 win against Burton Bentley.
Ian Tresnak (three for four), Jayden Stankevich two for three) plus Rowan Handley and Jax Morley (two for four each) led Dryden with multiple-hit performances. They were backed by Owen Gall and Aiden Furneaux (one for three apiece), Santiago Perales (one for four) and T.J.. Mersino (one for five).
Tresnak, Handley and Perales shared the pitching responsibilities for the winning Dryden side. They allowed five total hits, struck out 17 and walked five.
In the second game, Dryden picked up an 8-1 victory over Burton Bentley.
Gall and Handley (two for two each) accounted for Dryden’s base hits.
Furneaux was the pitcher of record for Dryden. He allowed two hits, struck out five and walked two along the way.
