Imlay City winds up with a sixth

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City wrestling team registered a sixth-place finish last Saturday at the Wyandotte Invitational.

Allen Park topped the standings with 162 points at day’s end. They were followed by Tecumseh (127 points), Ypsilanti (118.5), Annapolis (111), Roosevelt (109), Imlay City (101), Clarenceville (100), Dearborn (98.5), Ann Arbor Skyline (81), Belleville (72), Lincoln Park (66), Churchill (65.5), L’Anse Creuse (64), Utica Ford (63.5), Thurston (59), Centerline (56.5) and Garden City (46.5).

Tanner Land and Christopher Galiana led Imlay City with firsts. Land closed out 126-pound action when he pinned Churchill’s Christian Hollow with 1:49 elapsed in their title bout and Galiana ended his stint at 132 pounds by handing Lincoln Park’s Bradin Palazzolo an 18-3 championship setback.

Caleb McLain (113) and Kaden Powers (175) collected fifths for Imlay City. McLain completed his run when he pinned Annapolis foe Catherine Warlick with 31 seconds gone and Powers wrapped up things when he pinned Roosevelt’s John Kazmierski with 3:54 elapsed.

Imlay City also received a sixth courtesy of Jaydin Hall. He finished his tournament run when he was pinned by Clarenceville’s Antoine Dye with 2:42 gone.
