All-Area volleyball team announced

TRI-CITY AREA — From first serve until the final point hit the floor, these competitors excelled with their accomplishments out on the court.

Here is a look at who made the 2024 edition of The Tr-City Times All-Area volleyball squad and the numbers they generated along the way.

Emma Keeping, Imlay City.

Keeping, a 5-10 junior setter/outside hitter, amassed 377 kills and 376 set assists this season.

She also contributed 189 digs, 52 ace serves and 44 blocks to Imlay City’s cause.

This was her third season on Imlay City’s varsity.

Keeping concluded the 2024 season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team selection.

Chloe Bruman, Imlay City.

Bruman wound up 288 digs during the 2024 campaign.

The 5-9 senior outside hitter also provided Imlay City with 256 kills, 47 ace serves, 36 set assists and 13 blocks.

This was her fourth season on Imlay City’s varsity.

Bruman ended the 2024 campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team choice.

Makayla Bruman, Imlay City.

Bruman, a 5-10 junior setter/outside hitter, collected 496 set assists and 251 digs this season.

She also contributed 166 kills, 93 ace serves and 23 blocks to Imlay City’s cause.

This was her third year on Imlay City’s varsity.

Bruman completed the 2024 season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team pick.

Maddie Gammon, Dryden.

Gammon managed 173 digs and 172 service points during the 2024 campaign.

The 5-5 freshman outside hitter/defensive specialist also generated 72 kills and furnished 43 ace serves.

Gammon completed her initial varsity campaign as an All-Big Thumb Conference Blue Division first team selection.

Sidni Brinker, Almont.

Brinker, a 5-9 junior outside hitter, collected 278 kills and 170 digs this season.

She also contributed 34 service points to Almont’s cause.

This was her third season on Almont’s varsity.

Brinker finished the 2024 season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team choice.

Genesis Fisher, Almont.

Fisher finished with 331 digs during the 2024 campaign.

The 5-7 junior libero also provided Almont with 71 service points and 32 kills.

This was her third season on Almont’s varsity.

Fisher wrapped up the 2024 campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention pick.

Cierra Helzer, Capac.

Helzer, a 5-0 senior libero, accumulated 214 digs this season.

She also contributed 19 ace serves to Capac’s cause.

This was her second season on Capac’s varsity.

Helzer ended the 2024 season as an All-Big Thumb Conference Black Division honorable mention selection.

Second team– Yannet Zepeda, Imlay City; Lyla Russell, Imlay City; Keira Miller, Dryden; Isabella Weier, Dryden; Alley Block, Capac; Chloe Schocke, Capac; Madi Derk, Almont; Cora Wangler, Almont; and Mallory Barker, Dryden.

Coach of the Year– For directing Imlay City to a 26-11-1 overall mark and a share of the Blue Water Area Conference title. Spartan Coach Rachel Van Dyk earns Tri-City Times All-Area Coach of the Year accolades.
