Capac wins in rout over Caseville, 58-0

CAPAC — Capac routed visiting Caseville, 58-0, in a non-league varsity football matchup last Thursday night.

It was the season-opener for both squads.

“Coach Troy Schneider and I are happy with our team’s attitude, effort and focus,”  Capac Coach Bill Nestle commented. “We need to improve every week,” he noted.

In Thursday’s matchup, Capac bolted out to a 20-0 advantage after one quarter was over and widened the gap to 34-0 by halftime.

When the action resumed, Capac continued to pull away. Aided by a 24-0 third quarter advantage, the Chiefs increased their cushion to 58-0 with 36 minutes gone.

That was followed by a scoreless final quarter, leaving Capac with a 58-0 win to celebrate at night’s end.

Capac generated their 58-point output aided by a Peyton Frankowiak 20-yard touchdown run; a Sam Schneider 42-yard touchdown run; a Frankowiak 45-yard touchdown run (followed by a PAT tote by Brody Tesnow); a Schneider 88-yard touchdown run; an Alan Uribe-Arce to Frankowiak 11-yard touchdown pass (followed by a Boston Vock PAT run); a Gabe Peters 49-yard touchdown run (followed by a Tesnow PAT tote); a Schneider 22-yard touchdown run (followed by a Peters PAT tote); and a Seth Turner eight-yard fumble return for a touchdown (followed by a PAT tote by Ryan Grant).

For the night, Alan Uribe-Arce completed four of four pass plays for 22 yards as Capac’s quarterback. He threw zero interceptions along the way.

Tesnow added a one for two performance for 39 yards. He did not throw an interception either.

Vock (two catches for 18 yards), Wiley Roose (one reception for 39 yards), Schneider (one catch for 15 yards) and Frankowiak (one reception for 11 yards) supplied Capac’s catches.

The Capac ground attack wound up with nine rushes for 272 yards.

Individually, Schneider (five rushes for 155 yards) led Capac. He was backed by Frankowiak (68 yards on three totes) and Peters (49 yards on one rush).

Jacob Clowers (nine solos and two assists) contributed Capac’s highest tackle total. Frankowiak (two solos and six assists), (Brendan Bussone and Schneider (three solos and three assists each), Brian Canelo Rodriguez (six assists) and Grant (five assists) made their presence felt as well.

Capac returns to action this Friday when they travel to Kingston. The Big Thumb Conference Blue Division encounter is scheduled for 7 p.m.
