Campbell, Hurley to join forces in All-Star game

TRI-CITY AREA — Almont’s Noah Campbell and Capac’s Wyatt Hurley will team up for the East squad against the West team in the 42nd Michigan High School Football Coaches Association All-Star Game on Saturday, June 22.

Lawrence Tech University, in Southfield, will host the game. That matchup lists a 1 p.m. starting time.

This game is a long standing high school football tradition in Michigan. Many great football players in the state’s history have played in the game, including NFL players Jerome Bettis, Braylon Edwards and Jake Long.

Campbell, an offensive lineman, joins a list of Almont alumni Bryce Ferman (2023), Michael Lulgjuraj (2021), Jacob Hausmann (2020), Austin Kosinski (2016), Neal Zott (2009), Paul Brieger (1998) and Ryan Trumpour (1997) that have competed in the contest.

Hurley will also play for the East squad as a tight end.

He is one of only two players selected from 8-Man football squads chosen to participate.
