Capac softball wins convincingly

Capac pitcher Madalyn Roberson threw a no-hitter against Deckerville in a non-league softball contest last week.

CAPAC — Capac outscored host Deckerville by a combined 34-1 count en route to a non-league doubleheader sweep on Tuesday, April 9.

In the opener, Capac earned a 17-0 win against Deckerville.

Annabelle Schneider (two singles, a double and a triple), Madalyn Roberson (two singles and a home run), Skielar Tesnow (a pair of home runs) and Emalie Roberson (a single and a triple) led Capac with multiple-hit performances. Robin Owens and Christina Howard (a triple each) also reached the hitting column.

Madalyn Roberson, who was coming off an ACL injury, was the winning Capac pitcher. She threw a no-hitter, struck out nine and walked one.

In the second game, Capac picked up a 17-1 victory over Deckerville.

A group consisting of Howard (a pair of doubles), Madalyn Roberson, Schneider and Owens (two singles apiece) paced Capac’s offensive attack. They were backed by Chloe Schocke (a triple) along with Gabby Tice and Nevaeh Mason (a single each).

Madalyn Roberson was Capac’s pitcher of record. She allowed four hits, struck out four and walked none.
