Imlay City turns back Capac twice

TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City downed visiting Capac, 7-5 and 6-1, in a non-league varsity baseball doubleheader last Thursday.

Sam Edson and Easton McKinstry led Imlay City with a pair of singles each during game one. They were backed Trace Dennis (a double) along with Griffin Wetzel and Brady Detwiler (a single apiece).

Levi Lengemann, Carter Cox and Vinnie Guerin pitched for Imlay City. They allowed four total hits, struck out four and walked three.

Axel Demaray, Brody Tesnow, Paul Swamba and Brendan Bussone paced Capac’s offensive attack. They managed a single each.

McKinstry (three singles and a double) notched Imlay City’s top plate credentials during game two. Dennis (a single and a double) plus Detwiler, Wetzel, Edson and Lengemann (a single apiece) supported his performance.

McKinstry was Imlay City’s pitcher of record. He gave up one hit, struck out 10 and issued three walks.

Demaray (a single) generated the lone Capac hit.
