Chiefs move mark to 12-4 on year

CAPAC — The Capac varsity baseball team improved to 12-4 overall, including a 5-1 Big Thumb Conference standing, following a doubleheader sweep against visiting Memphis last Thursday.

In the opener, Capac made Memphis absorb an 11-4 loss.

Austin Howard (three singles), Brody Tesnow (a single and a double), Axel Demaray (a pair of singles) along with Wiley Roose, James Owens, Bryce Lietz and Paul Swamba (a single each) contributed Capac’s hits.

Tesnow was the winning Capac pitcher. He allowed four hits, struck out eight and walked one.

In the second game, Capac handed Memphis a 10-0 setback.

Demaray (three singles), Colin Potter (a single and a double) and Jack McGeorge (two singles) paced Capac’s offensive attack. Bryce Lietz and Owens (a single apiece) also reached the hitting column.

Demaray was Capac’s pitcher of record. He gave up two hits, struck out five and walked one.
