Re: Tim Dyke’s Letter to the Editor on police protection (in Almont).

The info Tim provided on various expenses for police protection comparing the village to the township was enlightening.

I don’t recall seeing these costs broken down before and would have appreciated knowing how they were broken down before.

I had actually planned on attending the meeting to ask exactly that. In my mind, the township was larger than the village and needed more coverage. But, it hadn’t occurred to me to consider the travel time involved. Of course, the township should have to pay that too.

Also involved are the greater population resulting surely in more calls.

Many thanks Tim, for your documentation of actual calls. I would hope to see that kind of record keeping before every request for more tax money.
