Raiders are second at own tourney

ALMONT — The Almont varsity baseball team posted a 1-1 mark on the way to a second at a tournament it hosted last Saturday.

Almont opened their two-game stint with a 6-3 win against L’Anse Creuse.

Blake Lane and Brock Murphy (a pair of singles apiece), Colten Karbel and Colin Campbell (a double each) along with Ian Meyers (a single) contributed Almont’s hits.

Colin Campbell and Landon Swain shared the pitching responsibilities for the winning Almont side. They allowed five total hits, struck out three and walked two.

Almont then faced Summit for tournament honors next, falling 3-2.

Murphy (a single) provided the lone Almont hit.
