Dryden fifth, Almont sixth at meet

TRI-CITY AREA — The Dryden and Almont girls’ track squads placed fifth and sixth, respectively, among small division schools last Friday at the Shake Off The Rust Invitational in Davison.

Caro (165 points) paced the field assembled. They were followed by Laingsburg (123 points), Reese (85), International Academy of Flint (85), Dryden (70), Almont (66), Flint Cultural Center Academy (six) and Lakeville (two).

Caila Fitchett, 300 hurdles, 53.63 seconds; led Dryden with a first.

Fitchett, 200-meter dash, 28.93 seconds; and Cara Prusakiewicz, 3200 run, 12:53.45; provided Dryden with seconds.

Prusakiewicz, 1600-meter run, 5:55.09; gave Dryden an individual event third.

The Dryden 1600 relay of MaKayla Mater, Karley Phillips, Mallory Barker and Fitchett pulled up third as well. They were timed in 5:14.54.

Claire Wright (800 and 1600-meter runs) collected a pair of individual event fourths for Dryden. She registered 2:47.72 and 6:13.24 clockings, respectively.

The Dryden 800 and (Phillips, Mater, Barker and Fitchett) and 3200 (Diana Lallbachan, Lilyana Lasher, Olivia Zellers and Gustner relays wound up fourth as well, thanks to respective clockings of 2:07.24 and 13:39.81.

Ella Gustner, 800 run, 3:00.2; gave Dryden a fifth.

Dryden’s 400-meter relay of Elaina Yatros, Arianna Romain, Olivia Zellers and Phillips took fifth as well. They were timed in 1:05.12.

Barker, long jump, 11 feet 11 inches; added a seventh to Dryden’s cause.

Lola Battaglia, 200 dash, paced Almont with an individual event first. She was timed in 27.79 seconds.

She also placed second with a 100-meter dash clocking of 13.52 seconds.

The Almont 3200-meter relay of Laila Evola, Serena Evola, Charlotte Verougstraete and Ella Tesluk wound up second as well. They were timed in 12:53.47.

Laila Evola, 3200 run, 14:06.83; supplied Almont with a third.

Serena Evola, 300 hurdles, 58.82 seconds; provided Almont with a fourth.

Sam Miodowski, shot put, 25 feet 9 inches; and Shelby Roosa, discus, 75 feet 11 inches; furnished fifths for Almont.

Hollyn Murphy, shot put, 24 feet 8 1/2 inches; Miodowski, discus, 71 feet; Serena Evola, 100 hurdles, 20.51 seconds; and Tesluk, 400 dash, 1:21.76; gave Almont sevenths.

Verougstraete, 800 run, 3:26.51; added an eighth to Almont’s cause.
