Almont splits contests with Armada

ALMONT — The Almont varsity baseball team split a Blue Water Area Conference doubleheader it hosted against Armada last Wednesday.
With the decision, Almont now stands at 2-4 overall and 1-1 as far as BWAC clashes are concerned.

In the opener, Armada handed Almont an 8-3 setback.

For Almont, Brock Murphy led the way with three hits. He was backed by Blake Lane and Colin Campbell (two each) while Landon Swain, Vincent Catenacci and Keith Geml (one apiece) furnished the remaining Raider hits.

In the second contest, Almont bounced back with a 4-2 victory over Armada.

Colten Karbel, Mason Kruse, Geml, Lane and Swain (one each) contributed Almont’ hits.

Lane was the winning Almont pitcher. He allowed three total hits, struck out five and walked four.
