Almont splits with Swartz Creek

ALMONT — Almont split with host Swartz Creek in a non-league varsity baseball doubleheader on Monday, March 30.

In the opener, Almont picked up a 5-3 victory over Swartz Creek.

Brock Murphy led Almont with single and a double. He was backed by Blake Lane, Colin Campbell, Colten Karbel, Keith Geml and Ian Meyers (a single each).

Lane was the winning Almont pitcher. He allowed three hits, struck out seven and walked two along the way.

In the second contest, Swartz Creek registered a 2-1 triumph against Almont.

Lane paced Almont with a pair of singles. Karbel and Murphy added a double and a single, respectively, to the Raiders’ cause.
