Imlay City opens season

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City girls’ track squad claimed three top-30 performances among Division 1/2 entries at the SVSU Indoor Invitational last Wednesday.

No team scores were kept at the meet.

Kendal Donahue led Imlay City that day. Donahue’s pole vault clearance of 8 feet paid off with a 15th.

Alex Robinson supplied the next best Imlay City showing. Robinson registered a time of 8.52 for 60 meters, good for 24th.

The Imlay City 2400 relay of Donahue, Riley Schlaufman, Emma Phillips and Grace Sample pulled up 25th. They registered an 8:30.53 clocking en route.

Payton Hintz, 60-meter hurdles, gave Imlay City a 30th.

Morgan Robertson wound up 31st thanks to a shot put toss of 26 feet 9 inches.

Robinson, 200 dash, 29.18 seconds; contributed a 42nd for Imlay City.

Madison Singleton generated a 45th for Imlay City, aided by a shot put throw of 22 feet.

Schlaufman took 59th with a 1600-meter run clocking of 7:07.8.

Rylee Tyack, 60 (9.15 seconds) and 200-meter (30.67 seconds) managed a pair of 63rd-place finishes for Imlay City’s cause.

Emma Phillips, 400 dash, 1:20.12; took 63rd as well for Imlay City that day.
