Imlay City downs Richmond, 54-43

IMLAY CITY — Imlay City earned a 54-43 win against visiting Richmond in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls’ basketball matchup last Thursday night.

With the decision, Imlay City improves to 10-10 and 7-6.

In Thursday’s matchup, Imlay City took a 14-8 advantage after one quarter was over and led 29-17 at the half.

When the action resumed, Imlay City struck with a 13-10 third quarter edge. That widened the gap to 42-27 with 24 minutes gone.

Imlay City then withstood a 16-12 fourth quarter rally, leaving with a 54-43 win to their credit.

Alexis Bruyere (24) and Mikayla Bruman (10) posted Imlay City’s top point totals. Savannah Douglas (eight points), Alison Shafer (five), Montanna Eads, Roslyn Bruman and Lilley Duncan (two each) along with Mackenzie Bruyere (one) supported their performances.
