Imlay defeats Almont, 63-38

TRI-CITY AREA — Makayla Bruman (19) and Alexis Bruyere (18) combined for 37 points, helping host Imlay City post a 63-38 victory over Almont in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls’ basketball encounter last Friday night.

With the outcome, Imlay City goes to 9-7 and 6-4. Almont falls to 4-10 and 2-8.

In Friday’s encounter, Imlay City took a 20-12 advantage after one quarter was over and increased their cushion to lead 27-18 at halftime.

Imlay City followed it up with a 36-20 second half edge, closing out a 63-38 victory.

Montanna Eads and Savannah Douglas (seven each) supplied the next highest Imlay City point totals. Mackenzie Bruyere and Allison Shafer (four points apiece) plus Roslyn Bruman and Macie Stine (two each) also reached the scoring column.

Rachael Johnson (14 points, including four trifectas) and Madi Derk (11, featuring a trey) proved Almont’s toughest players to stop. They were backed by Vivian Asaro, Gabby Carlson and Noelle Bourdeau (four points apiece) along with Emily Howard (one).
