Capac girls place five at BTC meet

CAPAC — The Capac girls’ wrestling squad registered five top-six finishes last Sunday at the Big Thumb Conference Tournament it hosted.

No team scores were kept at the tournament.

Isabella Chapa led Capac that day, collecting a second. Chapa advanced to the title bout at 100 pounds where she dropped an 8-2 verdict to Sandusky’s Bree Adams.

Ava Klink matched her finish position. Klink went 2-1 en route to a second, that coming in the 145-155-pound division.

Shaylynne Schaefer furnished the next best Capac showing. Schaefer pulled up fourth pitted against 125-pound weight class foes.

Madison Clark and Mylla Vigiletti provided Capac’s other placwinning performance. Clark won the fifth-place match between two teammates at 115 pounds by a pin with 2:55 elapsed.
