Capac falls to rival Brown City, 53-44

CAPAC — The Capac boys’ basketball team now owns a 6-7 overall record, including a 2-2 Big Thumb Conference Black Division mark, following a 53-44 setback to visiting Brown City last Wednesday night.
In Wednesday’s meeting, Brown City jumped out to an 18-12 advantage after one quarter was over and widened the gap to 34-21 at the half.
When the action resumed, Capac bounced back with a 17-13 third quarter edge. That trimmed their deficit to 47-38.
Brown City and Capac generated six points each the rest of the way, leaving the former with a 53-44 win at night’s end.
Austin Howard paced Capac with 20 points, draining a triple along the way. Boston Vock (13 points, including a trifecta), Bryce Lietz (eight, featuring a pair of treys), Brendan Bussone (two) and Collin Potter (one) supported their performance.
