PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be conducted by the Almont Township Board at the Almont Municipal Building, 819 N. Main Street, Almont, Michigan 48003, telephone (810) 798-8521, on June 8, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., to consider the estimated costs and expenses of police protection and the distribution of the special assessment levy for the 2026 calendar year.
The estimated costs and expenses and the proposed distribution of the levy will be available for public examination at the office of the Township Clerk at least ten (10) days prior to the date of the hearing.
Appearance and protest at the hearing are required in order to appeal the amount of the special assessment to the Michigan Tax Tribunal. Appearance and protest may be made by an owner or party of interest, or his or her agent, either by appearing in person at the hearing or by filing a written protest by letter, in which case personal appearance shall not be required. A written appeal of the special assessment may be filed with the Michigan Tax Tribunal within thirty (30) days after confirmation of the special assessment roll, provided the special assessment was protested at this hearing held for the purpose of confirming the roll.
The special assessment district consists of the entire Township of Almont, excluding the Village of Almont.
