Imlay City girls turn back North Branch

IMLAY CITY — Imlay City registered a 42-31 triumph against visiting North Branch in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity girls’ basketball game last Friday.

With the outcome, Imlay City improves to 5-3 and 2-2.

In Friday’s game, Imlay City spotted North Branch an 11-9 edge after one quarter was complete.

The next two quarters saw Imlay City generate 26 total points and North Branch manage 16, leaving them up 35-26 with 24 minutes gone.

Imlay City then outscored North Branch 7-5 the rest of the way, assuring themselves of a 42-31 triumph.

Alexis Bruyere (26) and Makayla Bruman (10) led Imlay City with double digit point totals. Montanna Eads, Allison Shafer and Makenzie Bruyere added two points each to the Spartans’ cause.
