Almont boys fall to Romeo at SC4

ALMONT — Almont dropped a 49-40 verdict to Romeo in a non-league varsity boys’ basketball matchup on Tuesday, December 30.

St. Clair County Community College, in Port Huron, is where the action unfolded.

With the decision, Romeo improves to 1-6 overall. Almont slips to 5-2 this season.

In Tuesday’s matchup, Almont grabbed a 14-12 edge after one quarter was over.

The middle two quarters saw Romeo net 29 total points and Almont manage 19, putting the former up 41-33 with 24 minutes gone.

Romeo then outscored Almont 8-7 the rest of the way, closing out 49-40 win.

Sean O’Neil collected 13 points and Blake Lane supplied nine to lead Almont. The Raiders also received points courtesy of Spencer Kent (eight, including a trifecta), Brody Corneau (six) along with Noah Campbell and Logan Schapman (two each).
