Almont slips past Capac, 38-36

TRI-CITY AREA — Almont slipped past host Capac, 38-36, in a non-league varsity boys’ basketball contest on Tuesday, December 16.
With the outcome, Almont improves to 4-1. Capac falls to 1-5.
In Tuesday’s contest, Almont took an 11-3 edge after one quarter was complete and stretched their lead to 22-12 at the half.
When play resumed, Capac struck with a 14-9 third quarter edge. That trimmed their deficit to 31-26 with 24 minutes gone.
Almont then withstood a 10-7 fourth quarter rally, pulling out a 38-36 victory.
Spencer Kent led Almont with 17 points. The Raiders also received points courtesy of Brody Corneau (11 points, including three trifectas), Blake Lane (eight) and Sean O’Neil (two).
