Cards are second at Grondin Classic

DRYDEN — The Dryden varsity boys’ basketball team was outscored, 71-62, by Webberville in the finals of the Paul Grondin Classic it hosted last Friday night.

With the outcome, Webberville moves to 5-0 overall. Dryden falls to 2-2 this season.
In Friday’s contest, Dryden grabbed a 20-17 edge after one quarter was over.

The middle two quarters saw Webberville manage 40 points and Dryden generate 31. That staked them to a 57-51 cushion with 24 minutes elapsed.

Webberville then outscored Dryden 14-11 the rest of the way, closing out a 71-62 win.

Luke Taylor (17), Brady Schneider (16, including a trifecta) and Gianni Coscione (15, featuring a pair of treys) proved Dryden’s top scoring threats. They were backed by Hayden Blair (five points), Jax Morley (four, with a triple), Jayden Stankevich (three) along with Nick Abromaitis and Tyler Roberts (one each).
