Trump should reread his own book

Dear Editor,

In regards to Wally Maslowsky’s letter in last weeks Tri-City Times. You seem to feel we’re picking on Trump. I’m just bringing attention to some of his short comings. I voted for Trump in 2016. When asked about the national debt, he said “it will be easy to reduce the debt”. Well you know how that turned out. His administration was one of the largest contributors to our debt. I lost a lot of respect for Trump with his bullying of Senator John McCain. The senator was a Navy pilot shot down and captured in Vietnam. He spent years tortured in a prison camp (he received more torture because his father was either in congress or in the military). He refused repatriation, letting prisoners in worse condition be returned home. As a result of years of torture he was unable to raise his arms to comb his hair. Trump called John a “LOSER”. Who in Trump’s mind would be a winner? Maybe the guy who dies with the most money? A good liar must have a great memory. Trump forgot most of his campaign promises. Dick Cheney, one of the unsung heroes of the Republican party, upon his retirement and leaving Washington, said Trump was dangerous and a threat to our democracy!

Trumps administration is careening along. He did keep one campaign promise – that he would close the border. Sleepy Joe had people at the border hand out credit cards and airline tickets to illegals crossing the border. Trump seems to think the constitution and our laws don’t apply to him. I guess that’s how he got to be a convicted felon. Social Security is going broke in 5 years. Trump isn’t even talking about it; he did call it a Ponzi scam. Trump is borrowing and spending $1 trillion every 3 to 4 months. What is happening to all the tariff dollars he says he is bringing in? He is still bullying; he calls reporter names, one a pig, and the people of Somalia garbage. He must think it makes him look more presidential.

Trump said he would end the war in the Ukraine the day he won the election, then it was the day he took office, now its 11 months later and those poor people are still being bombed by flights of missiles and rockets (almost a 1000 rockets last week). They are one of the bread baskets of the world and hold vast deposits of rare earth minerals. Sleepy Joe tried to help these people. Joe just didn’t have the vitality to move a lot of our and the world’s problems to a resolution. Trump once said the Ukraine attacked Russia. Maybe he still believes it. Trump should reread his book,THE ART OF THE DEAL, because at their meetings it looks like Putin is leading him around by the nose. Putin is between a rock and a hard place in Russia. He has spent hundreds of billions and the loss of a hundred thousand Russian lives on his war. His subjects aren’t too happy with him; he must win or face an uprising, Why aren’t we sanctioning the countries who supply these weapons?

The Saudi prince who the CIA said ordered the murder and dismemberment of a Saudi journalist was asked about it by a reporter at a press meeting. Trump answered saying, the Prince knew nothing about it. Trump admonished the reporter for asking the question. He’s not big on free speech or criticism.

The military screwed up big time a couple of months back. They sank a suspected drug boat on its way to the U.S. There were 2 survivors found clinging to the wreckage. Now any military man with half a brain knows prisoners may have valuable information. Not Trump’s military brain trust! They send a fighter jet at about $25,000 an hour to fly, and a $50,000 bomb blowing the poor guys to hell. If we captured them, we could have used enhanced interrogation on them. If that didn’t work, we would make them listen to 24 hours of continuous Trump speeches. We could have learned where the drugs were to be delivered and where they originated. But what if they weren’t drug dealers! The crap would really hit the fan! Bombs a-way!!

The thing I can’t understand is his penchant for lying; I can’t abide a liar, If you screw-up, own-up and move on. Screwing up is accidental, lying is premeditated. During my years as a manger, security would walk anyone who lied to me out the gate.

I watched a documentary of presidents who served in the military. They all seem to have a more realistic grip on reality and a more concentrated vision of the direction to take us. Trump was turned down for military service because of bone spurs on his heels. They say those are very painful, that is why they say his walking gate resembles that of a sasquatch. But others think it might be genetics. What do you think?
