Giving Tuesday, the power of generosity
Dear Editor,
The National Day of Giving, also known as Giving Tuesday, is celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving in the United States.
It encourages people to prioritize giving over consumerism by supporting local charities and nonprofits, promoting acts of generosity, and making gifts rather than purchases.
This day aims to unleash the power of generosity and collective action to create meaningful change in communities.
If you are considering a gift during this year’s National Day of Giving, Tuesday, December 2, we would suggest you might consider the Imlay City Historical Museum. Donations may be sent to 77 Main Street, Imlay City 48444.
The museum is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, staffed completely by volunteers. It is supported through fundraisers, memberships and corporate sponsors. The past few years have been a challenge as we continue the operation of the museum. The Imlay City area has a unique history and our mission is to promote an awareness and appreciation of that history.
