Capac sees impressive season end

CAPAC — Capac closed out their campaign with a 32-8 setback to host Kingston in an 8-Player regional championship battle involving Division 1 football squads last Friday night.

With the outcome, Kingston (10-1) advances to this Saturday’s semifinals where it will square off versus Martin (11-0). Capac watches an outstanding 8-3 campaign wrap up.

“Our team played a tough physical game,” Capac Co-Coach Troy Schneider commented. “We are proud of their effort tonight,” he noted.

“Taking care of the football is critical in close games. We did not do that tonight and it cost us in the fourth quarter.”

In Friday’s battle, Capac spotted Kingston an 8-0 advantage after one quarter was complete.

Quarter two would prove scoreless.

When the action resumed, Capac bounced back with an 8-0 third quarter edge. That made it an 8-8 ballgame at the time.

Kingston then bounced back with a 24-0 fourth quarter advantage, pulling out a 32-8 victory.

Capac generated their eight-point output aided by a Sam Schneider three-yard touchdown run and a PAT tote by Schneider.

For the evening, Brody Tesnow connected on two of eight pass plays for 19 yards as Capac’s quarterback.

His successful tosses were distributed to two different targets. Schneider (one catch for 12 yards) and Boston Vock (one reception for seven yards) formed that group.

Schneider was the other Capac player who opted to air out the football. His lone attempt went for an 11-yard completion to Brenden Bussone.

The Capac ground attack managed 176 yards on 34 totes.

Schneider (25 rushes for 147 yards) and Peyton Frankowiak (29 yards on seven totes) posted the top Capac individual outputs. The remaining two Chief rushes went for a total of no gain.

Bryce Lietz (six solos and four assists), Gabe Peters and Sam Schneider (five solos and three assists each), Wiley Roose (four solos and three assists) and Zachary Stroup (five solos and one assist) furnished the highest Capac tackle totals. Aiden McCracken and Frankowiak (three solos and two assists apiece) along with Seth Turner (three solos and one assist) made their presence felt as well.
