Almont girls golf brings home fifth

TRI-CITY AREA — The Almont girls’ golf squad claimed a fifth-place finish Monday at the Blue Water Area Conference Tournament.

Holly Meadows Golf Course, in Capac, is where the action unfolded.

Armada took team honors, thanks to a 376 output. They were followed by Yale (380), North Branch (402), Richmond (434) and Almont (442).

Imlay City and Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest also participated, but did not field complete squads.

Eva Rayl led Almont with a 103 over 18 holes. The Raiders also counted 106s from Rachael Johnson and Noelle Bourdeau as well as Alexis Redner’s 127.

Ava Shack paced Imlay City with a 114. Sara Belleville (169) also represented the Spartans.
