Spartans end their drought over Raiders

TRI-CITY AREA — Imlay City handed host visiting Almont an 8-0 setback in a Blue Water Area Conference boys’ tennis matchup last Thursday.

It marked the first time since the 1995 season Imlay City has defeated Almont.

In individual action, Levi Lengemann posted a 6-1, 6-1 top flight win against Eric Brown; Isaac Sommer picked up a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Austin Machiniak at second singles; Sam Edson registered a 6-2, 6-1 third flight triumph against Ethan Stacer; and Drew Schriber obtained a 6-2, 6-2 win over Brayden McKinney at fourth singles.

As far as doubles play was concerned, Grifffin Wetzel and James Lauwers claimed a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Carsen Cooper and Michael Stacer; plus Caleb McLain and Vinnie Guerin earned a 6-0, 6-1 second flight triumph over Collin Decoster and Marc Samona.

Imlay City’s Carsan Milovich and Jeremy Alter (third doubles) along with Cassius Vaden and Isaac Lindquist (fourth doubles) added triumphs by default against Almont.
