Thankful for another successful Attica Days

Dear Editor,

Thank you for another successful Attica Days! We want to thank everyone who attended the festival. The weather was shaky Friday afternoon but cleared out for Saturday!!

On Saturday the car and motorcycle show was a success with so many beautiful cars and motorcycles, it had to be a hard decision, but someone had to win. Congratulations to those who took home those trophies. Many people who visited the car show also received breakfast from the Attica Methodist Church. The Attica Museum had many visitors Friday and Saturday. The museum raffled off an electric grill. Congratulations to Lolly Pairgin! Thank you to the Sevens Ponds Astronomy Club for returning!

The music, coordinated by Keith Davison, kept everyone entertained while they wandered the festival enjoying the crafters, vendors and food trucks. The inflatables were a hit with the kids especially with the new water slides this year!! The kids’ central tent was a success with everything from sand art, giant bubble making, carnival games, the Bubble man and more. The petting zoo was enjoyed by all.

The cornhole tournament inside the beer tent put on by the Eagles of Imlay City had 24 team entries. The 1st place winners were Jeff McKay and Lucian Guerrero, 2nd place went to Carma Capizzo and Tim Bochatyn, Jr. and in 3rd place was Derek Mason and John Shack. We can’t forget to mention the amazing fireworks show put on by Michigan Family Fireworks, LLC on Saturday night. The perfect way to end our festival!

To those who volunteered individually or as part of the Young Marines, we couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you to the committee members who worked to make this event something the community can enjoy.

We want to express our deepest appreciation of those businesses who were sponsors:

PLATINUM: Attica Township, The Pentier Group, Owen Tree Service, Owen Lawn Care, Bryan’s Supermarket, Efficient Foam Insulation, Kapala Heating & Air Conditioning, The Huntsman Hunt Club, View Newspaper Group and HealthQuest Physical Therapy – Imlay City.

GOLD: ChoiceOne Bank, Lapeer Rent-All, JEM Electric Service, BJ’s Septic and Total Marine Technologies.

SILVER: R.A. Duthler Land Surveyor, Liebler Agency Inc., Chapman’s Starter Alternator Service, Jim’s Recycling and Rowley Auctions.

BRONZE: RYO Distribution, Village Printing, Pat Cronin, State Farm Ins. Agent, Rowley’s Grocery, American Tree, Rosy Brothers, Inc., Muir Bros. Funeral Home Lapeer, D&K Market, Ruth Hughes Memorial Library and Rolling Hills Golf Club.

Fun was had by all who attended! If you didn’t make it out this year, we are already planning next year’s event. It is a fun family friendly festival, and we encourage you to volunteer, become a craft or food vendor or attend to support your community! We can’t wait to see everyone next year on July 10 and July 11, 2026, when we will do it all again.

Thank you and see you next year!!
