O’Brien set to run for SC4 squads

IMLAY CITY — Charlotte O’Brien, a 2025 graduate of Imlay City High School, will continue her running career with the St. Clair County Community College women’s cross country and track teams during the upcoming school year.
O’Brien is coming off a senior campaign which saw her notch a season’s best clocking of 21:15.9 for 25th at the Birch Run Fall Invitational.
She also placed fifth at the Algonac Fox and Hounds Invitational; took sixth at the Marysville Invitational; supplied a 10th at the Mariner Invitational and at the second Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet; obtained a 13th at the first Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet; registered a 19th ar the Dryden Cardinal Classic Invitational; furnished a 25th at the Autumn Classic Invitational; notched a 33rd at the Brooks Mid Season Spectacular; generated a 35th at the Hatchet Invitational; collected a 51st at a Division 2 regional in Shepherd; plus added a 55th at the Hanson’s Invitational.
This spring O’Brien’s success would continue with Imlay City’s track team.
It was there she generated a season’s best clocking of 2:48.66 for second during a meet May 6 versus BWAC rival Algonac.
She also placed fourth at the Third Annual Cardinal Classic in Dryden; obtained a 15th at the Lapeer Lightning Invitational; registered a 22nd at a North Branch-based Division 2 regional; and supplied a 37th at the Shake Off the Rust Invitational in Davison.
At double that distance, O’Brien was at her swiftest when she ran a 6:13.76 effort en route to fourth at a meet versus BWAC counterparts North Branch and host Yale on April 22.
She also provided Imlay City with third at the Third Annual Cardinal Invitational in Dryden; managed a 10th at the Bad Axe-based Hatchet Invitational; took 15th at the Lapeer Lightning Invitational; pulled up 24th at a North Branch-based Division 2 regional; plus added a 33rd at the Shake Off the Rust Invitational in Davison.
She also managed a season’s best 400-meter dash clocking of 1:10.51 for sixth Tuesday, May 20 at the Algonac-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet.
O’Brien also joined forces with Hannah Hayes, Grace Sample and Ang Ross to post a season’s best of 4:51.54 for second Tuesday, May 2 at the Third Annual Cardinal Classic in Dryden.
Imlay City also ranked fifth at the Algonac-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet and Lapeer Lightning Invitational; placed 19th at the Shake Off the Rust Invitational in Davison; and added an 11th at North Branch-based Division 2 regional.
In addition to that, O’Brien teamed up with Grace Sample, Hannah Hayes and Ang Ross for an 11:19.97 clocking en route to ninth at the Caro-based Thumb Meet of Champions on Tuesday, May 27.
Imlay City also collected a second at the Third Annual Cardinal Classic in Dryden; supplied a fourth at the Lapeer Lightning Invitational; took fifth at Hatchet Invitational in Bad Axe; claimed sevenths at a North Branch-based Division 2 regional and Blue Water Meet of Champions in Marysville; and managed a 13th at the Shake Off the Rust Invitational in Davison.
