Summer Fest full weekend of activity

Pancakes, pickles, pie and a parade

 

IMLAY CITY — The 2025 Summer Fest is sure to be jam packed with activities, from morning to night, offering something for every age and interest.

Among the highlights on Friday, the opening day, are food trucks, a pet parade, a pickle eating contest, entertainment and a fireworks display to cap a full day of events.

Saturday starts bright and early with a Pancake Breakfast at the Eagles Hall on S. Almont Ave, served from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. The staff there always does a great job feeding the community, plus it’s a perfect way to fuel up before diving into the day’s events.

If pancakes aren’t enough for you, there is an ice cream social that will be offering countless flavors of the sweet treat from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Beginning at 10:00 a.m., numerous festival vendors, selling a wide variety of items, will be along Main Street and Third Street.

They will remain open throughout the day until 9:00 p.m., giving visitors plenty of time to browse and shop.

Much like Friday, favorite attractions will still be up and running. Families can still enjoy free inflatables, kids’ games, and access to the skate park beginning at 10:00 a.m. until they close at 9:00 p.m.

At 11:00 a.m., the Lego Building Contest begins at the Gazebo, running until 12:00 p.m., while the Car Show on Third Street also gets underway lasting until 3:00 p.m.

At noon, the Imlay City Fire Department will perform a Jaws of Life demonstration, taking place in the J&J parking lot, offering a real-time look at emergency rescue tools in action.

About that same time, youngsters will be sure to be delighted to see “Dog and Bear” mingling around town, between 12 noon and 3 p.m.. The life-sized critters are always a favorite with the children.

If you haven’t had your fill of pancakes and ice cream – top off your diet by taking part in a pickle eating contest at 11 a.m. and a pie eating contest at 12:30 p.m.

Over at Lamb Steele parking lot, teams will gather for the Corn Hole Tournament. Registration opens at noon, with bags flying at 1:00 p.m.

And that’s just the beginning – there is much more happening throughout the day, from live music to kids activities and community fun, the schedule is packed.

Everything leads up to one of Summer Fest’s biggest highlights: the Summer Fest Parade at 6:00 p.m. so be sure to take a look at the parade route so you can secure a good spot.

Following the parade, stick around for a fun Saturday night on the “Vegas Strip” and enjoy a Casino Night in downtown Imlay City to close out a busy day full of fun activities.

A new feature this year is a third day of the festival. On Sunday, visitors can enjoy the Skate Pad, inflatables, the Splash Pad (free) and another pickle eating contest. Big Wheel races and kids entertainment are also on the docket.
