Bobowski registers a first place

ALMONT — Macomb’s Jennifer (Kott) Bobowski, a 1988 graduate of Almont High School, went the distance at the M-22 Challenge recently in Empire, Michigan.

The grueling endurance race, which was contested June 14, saw entrants start things off with a 2.5 mile run. That was followed by a 17-mile bike ride and then a 2.5 mile kayak paddle.

Participating in the women’s 50-54 age group, Bobowski crossed the finish-line first. She took 2:06:24 to cover the territory.

There were 13 competitors entered in her division.
