Capac 15U wins Spartan tournament

CAPAC — The Capac 15U baseball squad fashioned a 4-0 mark, paving the way to a first-place finish at the Imlay City Spartan Classic All-Star Tournament this past weekend.

The team began their tournament run Saturday with a 4-2 win against Elba.

Later that day, Capac improved to 2-0 with a 12-4 victory over Imlay City.

Sunday’s play saw Capac keep their perfect mark intact, registering an 8-4 triumph against Elba.

Later that day, Capac met Elba for tournament honors. That battle drew to a close with Capac ahead 12-0.

Collin Potter, Max Klink, Jake Barbier, Liam Hopper, James Owens, Jack McGeorge, Preston Smith, Kaleb Pietrzak, Aaron Coltson, Axel Demaray, Bryce Lietz and Paul Swamba comprised Capac’s championship roster. They were directed to the title by coaches Brian Pietrzak, Paul Swamba and Ken Barbier.
