Schoen, Brown help Edge to title

TRI-CITY AREA — The Edge Fastpitch 11U softball squad, which counts Almont’s Ashlyn Schoen and Imlay City’s Camryn Brown among their ranks, registered a first-place finish June 28-29 at the NSA Can Am Games in Port Huron.
The team began tournament play with a 14-0 win against Interlakes Pride Turnminelo on Saturday, June 28.
Later that day, Edge secured a 9-7 victory over FC Meyers and dropped a 7-6 verdict to MI Marauders Wilson.
The following day saw Edge 11U bounce back with an 8-7 bracket play triumph against FC Meyers.
They then claimed a 10-3 win over MI Marauders, locking up a number one finish.
Hannah Ford, Kara Branson, Mila Mathie, Tess Nowacki, Sylvie Heist, Reese Rapp and Riley Phillips joined Schoen and Brown on Edge 11U’s championship squad. They were coached by Brad Nowacki and Matt Phillips.
