All-Area softball squad is named

TRI-CITY AREA — Day in and day out these athletes could be counted on to come through with outstanding performances.

Here is a look at who made the 2025 edition of the Tri-City Times All-Area softball squad and the numbers they generated en route to those accolades:

Faith Schriber, Imlay City, pitcher.

Record: Schriber wound up with an 11-12 mark, including a 2.87 ERA, this spring.

In 151 innings, Schriber allowed 190 hits, struck out 101 and walked 43.

Batting average: Schriber managed a .360 average this spring. That left her third on the Imlay City squad and sixth out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

She generated 25 singles, seven doubles and four home runs in 100 at bats.

Schriber also contributed 25 RBI, nine walks and five runs to Imlay City’s cause.

This was her second year on Imlay City’s squad.

Postseason honors: The sophomore concluded the campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team selection and All-District choice.

Abby Geml, Almont, pitcher.

Record: Geml put together a 13-7 record, featuring a 2.17 ERA, during the 2025 campaign.

In 132 2/3 innings of work, Geml gave up 125 hits, struck out 114 and walked 25.

Batting average: Geml provided a .188 average, thanks to 13 singles and two doubles in 80 bats. That ranked her sixth on the Almont squad and 10th among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She also contributed 21 RBI, 14 runs and 10 walks to Almont’s cause.

This was her second year on Almont’s squad.

Postseason honors: The senior wrapped up the year as an All-District pick and and All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention selection.

Alexis Bruyere, Imlay City, third base.

Batting average: Bruyere supplied a .372 average, thanks to 27 singles, three doubles and five triples in 94 at bats That ranked her second on the Imlay City squad and fifth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She also provided Imlay City with 23 runs, 14 RBI and one walk.

This was her second year on Imlay City’s squad.

Postseason honors: The sophomore finished the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention selection.

Chloe Schocke, Capac, third base/shortstop/catcher.

Batting average: Schocke supplied a .381 average, thanks to 19 singles and five doubles in 63 at bats. That left her first on the Capac squad and fourth out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

She also contributed 21 runs, 10 RBI and nine walks to Capac’s cause.

This was her fourth year on Capac’s squad.

Postseason honors: The senior completed the season as an All-Big Thumb Conference Black Division second team selection.

Makayla Bruman, Imlay City, shortstop.

Batting average: Bruman provided a .330 average this spring. That left her fifth on the Imlay City squad and eighth out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

She had 15 singles, nine doubles, six triples and one home run in 94 at bats.

Bruman also contributed 27 RBI, 26 runs and eight walks to Imlay City’s cause.

This was her third year on Imlay City’s squad.

Cora Wangler, Almont, shortstop.

Batting average: Wangler furnished a .295 average, thanks to 18 singles, three doubles, one triple and one home run in 78 at bats. That ranked her fourth on the Almont squad and ninth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She also provided Almont with 23 runs, 18 RBI and 12 walks.

This was her first year on Almont’s squad.

Postseason honors: The freshman ended her debut campaign as an All-District pick and All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention selection.

Lauren Webster, Almont, first base/third base.

Batting average: Webster furnished a .388 average, thanks to 25 singles, four doubles and two home runs in 88 bats. That ranked her second on the Almont squad and third among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She also provided Almont with 21 RBI, 16 runs and seven walks.

This was her fourth year on Almont’s squad.

Postseason honors: The senior, who has signed with Indiana Tech University, completed the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team pick and All-District selection.

Ava Nadrowski, Imlay City, leftfield.

Batting average: Nadrowski wound up with a .352 average this spring. That placed her fourth on the Imlay City squad and seventh out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

She collected 27 singles and four doubles in 107 at bats.

Nadrowski also contributed 20 RBI, 19 runs and five walks to Imlay City’s cause.

This was her second year on Imlay City’s squad.

Postseason honors: The sophomore completed her initial campaign as an All-District selection and All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention choice.

Chloe Bruman, Imlay City, centerfield.

Batting average: Bruman posted a .535 average, thanks to 59 singles and two doubles in 123 at bats. That ranked her first on the Imlay City squad and among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

She also provided Imlay City with 39 runs, eight RBI and seven walks.

This was her fourth year on Imlay City’s squad.

Postseason honors: The senior, who has signed with Davenport University wrapped up the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference, All-District, All-Region and Division 2 All-State first team pick.

Bruman has been selected to participate in the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game. That contest is set for July 15 at Davenport University.

Brooke Bunch, Almont, centerfield.

Batting average: Bunch supplied a .455 average this spring. That left her first on the Almont squad and second out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

She had 28 singles, nine doubles and three triples in 88 at bats.

Bunch also provided Almont with 37 runs, 16 walks and 13 RBI.

This was her fourth year on Almont’s squad

Postseason honors: The senior, who has signed with Wayne State University, completed the campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team choice and an All-District pick.

Coach of the Year- For her directing her team to a 17-15 overall mark and a second-place finish at a Division 2 district, Spartan Coach Jean Bannister earns Tri-City Times All-Area Coach of the Year honors.
