All-Area boys’ golf team selected

TRI-CITY AREA — From the opening match until the last, these competitors set themselves apart from the rest with their respective performances out on the course.

Here is a look at who made the 2025 edition of The Tri-City Times All-Area golf team and the credentials they amassed along the way.

Sonny Coscione, Dryden.

Coscione averaged 40.6 per nine-hole round during the 2025 campaign.

That placed him first on the Dryden squad and among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The senior also furnished a season’s best 18-hole round of 79 at the Brown City Invitational hosted by Holly Meadows Golf Course in Capac; managed an 83 at the Ubly Invitational; furnished an 87 during the Big Thumb Conference Black Division Tournament at Verona Hills Golf Course in Bad Axe; and contributed a 97 during a Division 4 regional at the Fountains Course in Clarkston.

This was his fourth year on Dryden’s team.

Coscione ended the season as an All-Big Thumb Conference Black Division first team choice.

Gianni Coscione, Dryden.

Coscione supplied a 42.0 average over nine holes this spring.

That ranked him second on the Dryden squad and out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

The sophomore also furnished a season’s best 18-hole round of 81 at the Ubly Invitational; provided an 84 at the Brown City Invitational hosted by Holly Meadows Golf Course in Capac; plus carded 89s at the Big Thumb Conference Black Division Tournament at Verona Hills Golf Course in Bad Axe as well as during a Division 4 regional at the Fountains Course in Clarkston.

This was his second year on Dryden’s team.

Coscione completed the season as an All-Big Thumb Conference Black Division second team choice.

Jacob Fuller, Almont.

Fuller averaged 42.5 per nine-hole round during the 2025 campaign.

That placed him first on the Almont squad and third among Tri-City Times All-Area honorees.

The senior also carded a season’s best 18-hole round of 77 during the North Branch Open at Washakie Golf Course; generated an 80 at the Blue Water Area Conference Tournament at Holly Meadows Golf Course in Capac; supplied an 81 during a Division 3 regional hosted by Timber Ridge Golf Course in Lansing; contributed an 84 at the Highest Honor Tournament at Huron Meadows Golf Course; provided an 86 during the Wayne Wire Tournament at the Fortress Golf Course in Frankenmuth; managed an 87 at the Orange Theory Tournament hosted by Hudson Mills Golf Course; plus furnished a 97 at the Royal Blue/Orange Tournament.

Fuller added a 163 total of over 36 holes, consisting of an opening round 81 and a second round 82, en route to a 31st-place showing during the Division 3 state finals hosted by The Meadows Golf Course at Grand Valley State University.

This was his fourth year on Almont’s team.

Fuller ended the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team selection.

Sam Schneider, Capac.

Schneider provided a 42.6 average over nine holes this spring.

That ranked him first on the Capac squad and fourth out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

The junior also posted a season’s best 18-hole round of 82 during the St. Clair County Tournament hosted by Marysville Golf Course; supplied an 86 at the Brown City Invitational at Holly Meadows Golf Course in Capac; generated an 89 during a Division 4 regional at the Fountains Course in Clarkston; plus provided 90s at the Ubly Invitational and Big Thumb Conference Black Division Tournament at Verona Hills Golf Course in Bad Axe.

This was his second year on Capac’s team.

Schneider wrapped up the season as an Al-Big Thumb Conference Black Division first team pick.

Nolan Rosczewski, Almont.

Rosczewski posted a 43.8 average over nine holes this spring.

That ranked him second on the Almont squad and fifth out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

The senior also supplied a season’s best 18-hole round of 79 at the Blue Water Area Conference Tournament hosted by Holly Meadows Golf Course in Capac; supplied 83s at the North Branch open at Washakie Golf Course and Highest Honor Tournament at Huron Meadows Golf Course; generated an 87 during the Orange Theory Tournament at Hudson Mills Golf Course; posted 88s at the Wayne Wire Tournament hosted by the Fortress Golf Course in Frankenmuth and during a Division 3 regional contested at Lansing’s Timber Ridge Golf Course; and chipped in a 96 at the Royal Blue/Orange Tournament.

This was his fourth year on Almont’s team.

Rosczewski wrapped up the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team choice.

Luca Longo, Capac.

Longo averaged 44.5 per nine-hole round this spring.

That placed him second on the Capac squad and sixth among Tri-City Times All-Area honorees.

The sophomore also furnished a season’s best 18-hole round of 79 at the Big Thumb Conference Black Division Tournament hosted by Verona Hills Golf Course; posted an 85 at the Ubly Invitational; contributed an 89 during a Division 4 regional at the Fountains Course in Clarkston; shot a 91 at the Brown City Invitational hosted by Holly Meadows Golf Course in Capac; and supplied a 94 at the St. Clair County Tournament hosted by Marysville Golf Course.

This was his second year on Capac’s team.

Longo finished the season as an All-Big Thumb Conference Black Division first team selection.

Spencer Kent, Almont.

Kent averaged 44.8 per nine-hole round during the 2025 campaign.

That placed him third on the Almont squad and seventh among Tri-City Times All-Area honorees.

The sophomore also generated a season’s best 18-hole round of 84 at the Blue Water Area Conference Tournament hosted by Holly Meadows Golf Course in Capac; furnished an 89 at the Royal Blue/Orange Tournament; provided a 91 at the North Branch Open hosted by Washakie Golf Course; and managed a 96 during a Division 3 regional contested at Lansing’s Timber Ridge Golf Course.

This was his first year on Almont’s team.

Kent finished the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention team pick.

Alex Ujkic, Almont.

Ujkic managed a 45.8 average over nine holes this spring.

That ranked him fourth on the Almont squad and eighth out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

The freshman also provided a season’s best 18-hole round of 82 at the Blue Water Area Conference Tournament hosted by Holly Meadows Golf Course in Capac; provided an 83 during the Orange Theory Tournament at Hudson Mills Golf Course; carded a 93 at the Highest Honor Tournament hosted by the Fortress Golf Course in Frankenmuth; and chipped in a 94 during a Division 3 regional hosted by Timber Ridge Golf Course in Lansing; plus added a 96 at the Royal Blue/Orange Tournament.

Second team- Adam Schaefer, Capac Austin Howard, Capac; Jacob Buffo, Dryden, Owen Gall, Dryden; Cory Hall, Imlay City; and Brody Haldeman, Almont.

Honorable mention- Hunter Richardson, Capac; Tanner Land, Imlay City; Shepherd Moussiaux, Almont; and Hugh Camire, Capac.

Coach of the Year- For directing Almont to a second at the Blue Water Area Conference Tournament; a third at the North Branch Open; and a fifth at a Division 3 regional, Raider Coach Mark Bone earns Tri-City Times All-Area Coach of the Year accolades.
